3 Predictions for Justin Herbert’s Future Career

If you’re a fan of the LA Chargers, you probably know how smartly Justin Herbert has been playing. Is it just a fluke, though, or is he here to stay? Find out by reading more.

New LA Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has been in the news for quite some time, owing to his spectacular performances. Only days after turning into the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the rookie signal-caller recently revealed that he had decided to become a football player when he was only in the fourth grade. Herbert’s recent win, becoming the “Rookie of the Year” has only been a stepping stone in his career.

So, what does Herbert’s future career look like? Here are a few of our predictions.

1.    The “5,000 Passing Yards” Story

Reaching 5,000 passing yards is undoubtedly a big deal. There have just been twelve 5,000-yard seasons in NFL history (11/12 occurring since 2008) by eight unique quarterbacks. In his second season in the league, Herbert will play with that number.

It is a bit faltering to anticipate him to miss the mark concerning 5,000 yards. However, he is still just in his subsequent season, which is an inconceivable accomplishment. Two quarterbacks have passed 5,000 yards in their successive season (Patrick Mahomes and Dan Marino), and Herbert will probably complete third on the record-breaking list.

Herbert is getting some assistance, however. The NFL season is moving to seventeen games, which will permit Herbert to play with the 5,000-yard passing mark. A few fans might be anticipating that Herbert should improve when it comes to yards per game.

2.    Most Passing Touchdowns Through Two Seasons

Justin Herbert completed the 2020 season with 31 passing scores in fifteen games. He set the record not just for the most passing scores in a rookie season but also the most overall touchdowns, as he found the endzone multiple times with his legs too.

Herbert has an incredible approach in setting the imprint for the most passing touchdowns through two seasons. Dan Marino’s subsequent season was one of the best in NFL history as he tossed 48 scores to set the unequaled imprint through two years.

Foreseeing a second-year quarterback to play with 40 scores is an incredibly strong forecast. However, every one of the signs is there for Herbert to arrive at that number. Most importantly, we realize that Herbert has a gun of an arm, and the Chargers are a real danger to score in any situation in the field.

3. Supports Tyron Johnson Over Mike Williams for WR2

Many individuals would have made plans for Mike Williams to be the third-most designated player in the group as the WR2. After the primary week in camp, where Tyron Johnson flourished, and Herbert and Williams didn’t link up as productively as you would think, there is still a chance we might see an adjustment in the hierarchy.

Williams is as yet going to enter the season as the WR2 on paper, yet with regards to focuses toward the year’s end, we may begin seeing Herbert preferring Johnson over Williams.

One reason why that might happen is Williams’ current circumstance. Williams’ agreement is ending after the season, and it has consistently appeared to be reasonable that he would not re-sign with the Chargers. It’s a good idea for Herbert to fabricate a special relationship with those players that really will stay close by next season and then some.
